Official Google Blog: A fall spring-clean
Google is discontinuing support to certain product to focus more on popular products. Some person expressed the surprise that Knol is still surviving. Perhaps they do not know that Knol is having good performance. This year 300,000 new knols will be posted and this number may go up to 500,000 that Wikipedia had in certain years. Also, the unique visitors per month is reaching 6 million in some more month making Knol a top 1000 website. Knol authors are relatively silent but doing a good job of posting and promoting knol.
